Terms of Use

Creative Skills Retail Council (CSRC) – Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 2025

1. Overview
These Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of the services, website, and membership programs provided by Creative Skills Retail Council Pty Limited (ABN 46 688 640 146) (“CSRC”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).

CSRC is a special-purpose not-for-profit social-enterprise company established to promote commerce, industry, and social impact for community benefit across Australia’s hair, barber, and beauty (makeup) personal services retail sector.

By purchasing a membership, accessing our website, or participating in CSRC programs, you agree to these Terms.

2. Legal Structure
CSRC is a special-purpose proprietary limited not-for-profit company registered in Australia and governed by its Constitution.

Any surplus income is applied solely to advancing CSRC’s objectives - supporting the hair, barber, and beauty (makeup) sectors, and related creative industries - through business capability development, workforce education, research, compliance, and sector advocacy as a recognised industry peak body.

No profits or assets are distributed to shareholders, members, or directors, other than reasonable payments for services rendered in accordance with the Constitution.

3. Membership
CSRC offers membership programs providing access to defined services, benefits, education and digital resources.

By joining, members agree to abide by the CSRC Member Code of Conduct and all organisational policies that promote respectful and ethical participation in the CSRC community.

Membership does not confer any ownership, voting, or governance rights in the company.

CSRC reserves the right, at its sole discretion and acting lawfully, to accept, refuse, suspend, or revoke any membership or renewal for any reason, including (but not limited to) conduct inconsistent with its Code of Conduct, organisational purpose, or values.

4. Membership Fees and Renewal
Membership fees are quoted in Australian dollars and are exclusive of GST where applicable.
Membership commences upon successful payment and confirmation from CSRC.
Membership is valid for the period stated at purchase (typically 12 months).
Renewal reminders are issued prior to expiry. Renewal must occur when due to maintain continuous access.
CSRC may adjust fees, benefits, or categories periodically; any updates will be communicated in advance via the website or email.

5. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Membership fees are non-refundable once payment is processed, except where required under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Refunds will only be provided where a major failure occurs under the ACL (for example, if services are not delivered as described).

Change-of-mind, non-use of benefits, or withdrawal during the membership term do not entitle a refund or credit.

Members may cancel at any time by written notice; access remains until the end of the paid term.

CSRC may terminate a membership without refund for breach of the Code of Conduct, misuse of materials, or where continued membership would be inconsistent with its organisational purpose, values, or integrity.

For any recurring payment arrangements, members may opt out of auto-renewal prior to the next billing date by advising CSRC in writing.

6. Events, Training, and Purchases
Separate cancellation or refund terms may apply to events, courses, or third-party products promoted by CSRC.
Where CSRC acts as an intermediary or partner, refunds are governed by the supplier’s terms.

7. Intellectual Property
All materials, resources, and publications provided by CSRC remain the intellectual property of CSRC or its licensors.
Members receive a limited, non-exclusive licence to use such materials for their own business or professional development only.
Reproduction, resale, or distribution without written permission is prohibited.

8. Limitation of Liability
CSRC resources and information are provided for general educational purposes.
Nothing constitutes legal, financial, or industrial-relations advice.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CSRC accepts no liability for any loss or damage resulting from reliance on information or materials provided through its services.

9. Amendments
CSRC may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will be available on our website and becomes effective upon publication.

Material changes that affect member rights or obligations will be communicated by email or website notice prior to taking effect.
Continued use of CSRC services constitutes acceptance of any amendments.
